How do I get started?

After installing SweepNspect, you'll be guided through a quick setup wizard:

1. Enter your company name and contact information
2. Optionally set up biometric lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint)
3. Add your first customer and property
4. Start your first inspection from the home screen

You can also tap "Load Demo Data" in Settings to explore the app with sample data before entering your own.

How do I export my data?

SweepNspect gives you full control over your data with multiple export options:

1. Go to More > Export Data
2. Choose what to export: customers, inspections, invoices, expenses, and more
3. Optionally filter by date range
4. Export as JSON (full backup) or CSV (for spreadsheets)
5. Share the file via email, AirDrop, or save to Files

You can also generate individual PDF inspection reports and invoices to share with customers directly from any inspection or invoice screen.

How do I delete my data?

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

1. Go to Settings > Clear All Data to remove everything
2. Confirm the deletion when prompted

You can also delete individual customers, properties, inspections, or invoices from their respective screens. Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device.

We recommend exporting a backup before clearing data, just in case.

Does SweepNspect work offline?

Yes. SweepNspect is built with a local-first architecture. All your data is stored on your device, so the app works fully offline. You can conduct inspections, generate reports, and manage your business without an internet connection.

Can I sync data between devices?

Yes. SweepNspect supports desktop sync over your local network. Pair your phone with the SweepNspect Desktop Companion to push and pull data between devices. No cloud servers are involved — your data stays on your network.

Is my data secure?

Your data is protected by your device's built-in encryption (iOS Data Protection / Android encrypted storage). You can also enable biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) for an additional layer of security. Since no data is sent to cloud servers, your information never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or sync it.
