SweepNspect ("the App") is a chimney inspection and service management app developed by Jonathan Laine ("we", "us"). This policy describes how we handle your information.
The short version: All your data stays on your device. We do not operate cloud servers that collect your data. We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third parties.
1. Information We Collect
SweepNspect stores all data locally on your device. We do not operate cloud servers that collect your data. The app stores:
- Customer Information: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses you enter for your clients
- Property Data: Property addresses, chimney specifications, and appliance details
- Inspection Records: Inspection results, findings, zone assessments, photos, and signatures
- Financial Data: Invoices, estimates, payment records, expenses, and mileage logs
- Company Profile: Your business name, contact information, license numbers, and logo
2. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used solely within the app to:
- Manage your chimney inspection business
- Generate inspection reports and invoices
- Track expenses and mileage for tax purposes
- Sync data between your devices (when you enable desktop sync)
3. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (iOS Data Protection / Android encrypted storage)
- No data is transmitted to external servers unless you explicitly export or sync
- Desktop sync operates over your local network only
- Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint) is available to protect access
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third parties.
Data leaves your device only when you:
- Export a backup file (JSON)
- Generate and share a PDF report or invoice
- Use desktop sync on your local network
5. Photos & Location
- Camera: Used only to capture inspection photos. Photos are stored locally.
- Photo Library: Used only to save inspection photos you choose to export.
- Location: Used only for property mapping. Location data stays on your device.
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Export all your data at any time using the app's built-in export feature
- Delete all app data via Settings > Clear All Data
- Uninstalling the app removes all stored data from your device
7. Children's Privacy
SweepNspect is intended for use by chimney service professionals and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
